Putting Children First
Staff are adept at differentiating activities within nursery to ensure all children have access to all areas of learning and support is given where appropriate with everyday activities such as snack times.
Cottam has a strong sense of family and community, organising and participating in community events year round, as well as the close relationships we have with our parents through our ‘open-door’ policy and excellent home links including learning journeys. We recognise the crucial role parents play as their child’s main educator and we aim to work in partnership to ensure that the children reach their full potential.
Lancashire Quality Award
As a setting we are committed to look at ways to improve and develop. We were one of the first nurseries in the County to achieve the Lancashire Quality Award in 2007 and have successfully retained this accolade ever since.
Following our recent visit, the Early Years specialist commented –
‘Thank you so much for your time this afternoon and for sharing your lovely setting provision with me, it was lovely to see such independent, confident young learners and wonderful interactions between staff and children.’ April 2013
